Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) is a public educational institution located in Carbondale, Illinois, United States. The university was founded in 1869 and is a part of the Southern Illinois University parent organization. One of its subsidiaries is the Morris Library.
SIUC is affiliated with various organizations, including the National Collegiate Athletic Association, Oak Ridge Associated Universities, American Association of State Colleges and Universities, National Athletic Association, and the Association of Public and Land. The institution's motto is "Deo Volente".
