Spyce Kitchen was made in response to a problem faced by its founders during study at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), which was how to have healthy, delicious, yet affordable meals. To do this, the founders chose to incorporate robotic technology to do the majority of the meal preparation - though there is still a human element to the process, which is done by an employee who holds the position of garde manger. This person is responsible for helping the customer input their order as well as putting the finishing touch to the dish. Spyce Kitchen's menu, ranges from Mediterranean-based dishes to Asian ones, priced starting from $7.50.
