Staked

Staked is a US-based digital currency staking platform. The company works with cryptocurrency funds, exchanges, and custodians to facilitate institutional-grade staking. As a noncustodial staking platform, Staked enables investors in Proof-of-Stake (PoS) networks to easily and securely compound their holdings. Staked's mission is to help investors earn yield from staking without relinquishing custody of their crypto assets. By providing infrastructure as a service, Staked removes significant barriers to entry while allowing investors to optimize rewards. Staked's multi-tier signing and listening node architecture give investors security, scalability, and decentralization. Staked was founded in March 2018 by Tim Ogilvie, Seth Riney, and Jonathan Marcus.

On January 31, 2019, Staked raised $4.5 million in seed funding led by Pantera Capital and joined by Coinbase Ventures, Global Brain, Digital Currency Group, Winklevoss Capital, Fabric Ventures, and Blocktree Capital. On December 21, 2021, crypto exchange service Kraken acquired Staked for an undisclosed amount; the deal was described as "one of the largest crypto industry acquisitions to date" by Kraken.
