Stanisław Mazur (1905-1981) was a Polish mathematician born in Lviv and a citizen of Poland. He studied at Sorbonne and was a doctoral student of Stefan Banach. Mazur's occupation was also a mathematician. He passed away in Warsaw on November 5th, 1981.
Mazur had several notable works which include the Banach–Mazur game, Mazur–Ulam theorem, Banach–Mazur theorem, Gelfand–Mazur theorem, Mazur's lemma, Mazur manifold, and Banach–Mazur compactum. Furthermore, he advised doctoral student Michael E. Bogdan.
