Steadiwear is a device developer and manufacturer in the healthcare industry specializing in developing hardware solutions that stabilize the wrists of those who suffer from various diseases that cause hand tremors, including Parkinson's disease. It was founded in 2015 and is based in Canada.
The Steadi-One was the company's flagship product that was released in 2019. It was lightweight and battery-free, consisting of a ball-and-socket joint and was lined with non-Newtonian fluid. The fluid reacts similarly to cornstarch and water, responding differently depending on the speed of motion. With slow voluntary movements, it behaves like water. However, quick movements, like tremors, cause the solution to harden and reduce tremors. Steadiwear has partnered with Boa in the development of the glove.
The company has developed a newer version of the product called the Steadi-Two. It is similar to the flagship product, but it is smaller, more lightweight, and more versatile. It is available in small and large sizes, and each order contains a glove, stabilizer, and portable pouch.
