Steffi Graf, a German tennis player, was born on June 14, 1969, in Mannheim, Germany. She holds German citizenship and is also known as an investor. Her father, Peter Graf, was a painter.
Graf received numerous awards, including victories at Wimbledon, the US Open, and the Australian Open. In 1988, she achieved the unique accomplishment of winning the Golden Grand Slam, as she was the only player to win major titles on four different types of surfaces (grass, clay, hard Rebound Ace, and Court Supreme synthetics). She was named the best in the world of sports in 1988 and held the "non-classical" Grand Slam in 1993-94. Graf was declared the world champion at the end of the season seven times (a record) in 1987-1990, 1993, 1995, and 1996.
