Steven Soderbergh (born January 14, 1963) is an American film director, cinematographer, film producer, screenwriter, television director, television producer, actor, executive producer, camera operator, showrunner, and film editor. Originally from Atlanta, Soderbergh holds United States citizenship and attended Louisiana State University Laboratory School.
In his career, Soderbergh has directed a diverse range of films, including Traffic, Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Thirteen, Ocean's Twelve, Out of Sight, and Sex, Lies, and Videotape. He also directed Haywire, Magic Mike, Solaris (2002 film), Logan Lucky, Behind the Candelabra, and Traffic (2000 film).
Steven Soderbergh also worked as the editor of Magic Mike XXL and created Ocean's 8. Additionally, he founded Section Eight Productions and has received multiple awards throughout his career, including the Academy Award for Best Director.
