Steven Zaillian

Steven Ernest Bernard Zaillian, born on January 30, 1953 in Fresno, California, is an American screenwriter, film producer, film director, and executive producer. He is a citizen of the United States and was educated at San Francisco State University.

Zaillian has written and directed several notable films in various genres such as action, drama, historical, thriller, psychological drama, crime, political drama, horror, exploitation, and comedy. His first film release was in 1977. He is also a producer and founder of the company "Film Rites".

During his career, Zaillian has received various awards including Writers Guild of America Award, Academy Awards, Critics' Choice Movie Awards, BAFTA Award, Golden Globe Awards, Chicago Film Critics Association Awards, Boston Society of Film Critics Awards, Satellite Awards, AACTA International Awards, and Directors Guild of America Award. Zaillian's work is predominantly written in English.
