Ofra Strauss is a food company founded in 1933 as a chocolate factory in Ramat Gan, Israel by Eliyahu Fromchenko, Eliyahu Kopilov, David Ettinger, Yaacov Arens, David Mosevics, Aharon Nissa, Yosef Segal and Gershon Freil. In 2004, Ofra Strauss and Erez Vigodman chose to merge with Elite to form an international publicly traded group called Strauss with a Strauss division and an Elite division. This merger made Strauss the second largest food company operating in Israel. The company is currently headquartered in Petah Tikva, Israel. The Strauss division makes dairy products and the Elite division focuses on making chocolate, coffee, and snack food products.
