Svetlana Kolesnichenko was born on September 20, 1993 in Gatchina, Leningrad region. Since an early age, he has been engaged in synchronized swimming. Performs in the disciplines of duo, group and combination. She graduated from School No. 8 and the synchronized swimming department of the sports and recreation school "Kiwi", where her coach was the Honored Coach of Russia Irina Belousova.
Then the athlete trained under the guidance of Honored coaches of Russia Tatiana Nikolaevna Pokrovskaya and Olga Ivanovna Vasilchenko. He has been a member of the national team of the Russian Federation since 2010.
In September 2010, in the Chinese city of Changshu, as part of the Russian national team, she became a three-time winner of the Synchronized Swimming World Cup in group performances. At the 2013 Universiade in Kazan, Kolesnichenko became the champion in a duet with Svetlana Romashina and in a group. In July 2013 , she won gold at the World Championships in Barcelona
