Sydney Pollack was born as Sydney Irwin Pollack on July 1, 1934, in Lafayette, Indiana. He was a multifaceted individual with occupations in various fields such as aircraft pilot, film producer, character actor, television director, actor, and film director. Pollack received education at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre and Stella Adler Studio of Acting.
He founded Mirage Enterprises and directed films such as Random Hearts, AMAZING GRACE (2018), Out of Africa (film 1985). Sydney Pollack was a member of the board of directors for The Interpreter and The Firm, while also being the creator of The Firm. His accomplishments in the film industry were recognized with an Academy Award for Best Director.
Sydney Pollack passed away on May 26, 2008, in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles.
