Founded in 2013 by Right Click Capital general partners Benjamin Chong, Ari Klinger and serial angel investor, Garry Visontay, the inaugural Sydney Seed Fund seeks to invest $100,000 in 20 companies. The fund focuses of young, high-growth Internet and technology companies that are less than 18 months old and that have growth potential.
In May 2013, the fund announced an investment in 20 tech start-ups companies over the next two to three years. According to the officials, each investment company will receive $50,000 to $150,000, a total of $US 1.8 million.
In September 2013, the Sydney Seed Fund, alongside Grand Prix Capital, and the Founder Institute, supported Australian Graduate School of Management's 12-week initiative program, during which MBA students from the AGSM at UNSW Australia partnered with start-up companies, immersing the student in an entrepreneurial business.
The firm is advised by a board of investors including Jeffrey Paine (Golden Gate Ventures), Adeo Ressi (Founder Institute), David Siemer (Siemer & Associates) and Fadi Bishara (Sinbad Ventures).
