ALMOST THE FIRST ON THE LIST OF DEATH M ANAGERS
During the years of the Great Patriotic War, Tatarstan lost more than a thousand women on the battle fronts. But the only woman - the Hero of the country - survived this massacre.
In the Republic in its entire history, only one woman lived and worked - a Hero of the Soviet Union. The name of this legend - the pilot of the Taman women's regiment of U-2 (PO-2) bombers Maguba Huseynovna (Khusainovna) Syrtlanova - is one of the Kazan streets. When I learned about the proposal to erect a monument to her in our city, I was glad, one might say, doubly: it is located in a very symbolic place - at the intersection of the street named after her and Pobedy Avenue.
Maguba Huseynovna, alas, did not live up to this time, but she went through the whole war even without wounds ...
And this is already a unique fact. Judge for yourself. According to foreign historians who deal with the topic of World War II, for that time there was a so-called combat norm of sorties - 25. The last 5 of them were called nothing less than "mortals". That is, in the troops of our allies in the anti-Hitler coalition, it was believed that the pilot who fulfilled this norm was worthy of an award. After that, he was given a choice: to continue his service on the ground or to retire with honor. The Red Army acted differently. After 100 successful sorties, the pilot sometimes received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. There was no talk of resignation or retirement at all. Now let's turn to the military statistics of our heroine.
From the personal flight book of the guard lieutenant Syrtlanova:
“Total for January 1, 1945:
- total flight time - 2948 hours 30 minutes;
- daily flight time - 1788 hours 35 minutes;
- night raid - 1159 hours 55 minutes;
- combat raid: during the day - 690 hours, at night - 840 hours 15 minutes;
- dropped 84,361 kilograms of bombs, 110 packs of leaflets, (used) 1,180 ShKAS rounds;
- efficiency: caused 31 fires, 80 strong explosions, destroyed 1 enemy searchlight."
From the award list of Syrtlanova:
I dropped 140 tons of bomb cargo to destroy the enemy troops. As a result of precise bombing strikes in the enemy camp, 128 strong explosions, 85 fires were caused, 2 enemy crossings, 2 railway echelons were destroyed and damaged, a fuel depot was blown up, 3 artillery batteries, 2 searchlights and 4 vehicles with fuel were destroyed.
