The TON Foundation is a decentralized community set up by Anatoliy Makosov and Kirill Emelyanenko after Telegram abandoned the project. It is a community of open-source developers that has supported the development of TON (The Open Network) since the transfer of rights. TON Foundation's goal is to stay true to the network's design as detailed in the original whitepaper. The TON Foundation is also referred to as TON, the same as the blockchain the community develops.
TON Foundation applies the existing ecosystem of communities, developers, publishers, and more to continue the development of the TON blockchain and the related services—such as wallet, cryptobot, and storage. The foundation also works to entice blockchain and dApps projects to develop on or migrate to the TON blockchain.
