Taher Elgamal

Taher Elgamal (born August 18, 1955, in Cairo, Egypt) is an Egyptian mathematician and computer scientist. He is known for his work in cryptography and his contributions to the field of computer science. Elgamal studied at Cairo University, where he earned his education. As a doctoral student, he worked under the supervision of Martin Hellman, a well-known cryptographer. Taher Elgamal is currently affiliated with Evolution Equity Partners as a subsidiary.
