Taylor Hackford (born December 31, 1944) is an American film producer, film director, and screenwriter. He was born in Santa Barbara, California and holds United States citizenship. Hackford attended Santa Barbara High School and graduated from the University of Southern California.
Hackford is a member of the board of directors of The Devil's Advocate, based on the novel by Morris West. One of his most notable works includes directing the film Ray. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards, such as the Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media, Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media and the Directors Guild of America Award. Hackford has also been recognized at multiple international film festivals, including the Chicago International Film Festival, San Francisco International Film Festival, and Tokyo International Film Festival.
Taylor Hackford is married to actress Helen Mirren.
