Tetrate

Tetrate Service Bridge (TSB) is an application connectivity platform for enterprises, enabling them to connect and secure services across mesh-managed environments. TSB is installed at the "edge" of application infrastructure, at Kubernetes Ingress, and between workloads in Kubernetes and traditional compute clusters. The platform uses edge and ingress gateway routing as well as load balancing of application traffic across clouds and clusters while the mesh controls connectivity between services.

TSB is built on open-source projects such as Istio, Envoy, and Apache SkyWalking. The platform offers application management for compute tasks in the form of a single management plane across diverse environments, such as Kubernetes, virtual machines, and bare metal servers in the cloud or on premises. Users have access to an inventory of mesh deployments, versions, and current state, which can help them introduce incremental system upgrades.

The platform's global service inventory feature enables users to monitor services and gain insight into them, including their dependencies, behavior, health history, and ownership details, with a full view of applications running in the system. TSB is powered by a validated build of Istio, offering also Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS)-compliant options. Tetrate tested TSB on various Kubernetes environments, including EKS, EKS Anywhere, GKE, and AKE. The following are features offered on the platform:

• An infrastructure monitoring tool, offering support for OpenAPI-based configuration combined with application-level metrics for development teams to manage operations
• A multi-tenancy management tool for access control and isolation to distribute and assign shared infrastructure among teams, auditing changes service and shared resources
• An observability analysis platform and application performance management system
• An application discovery and centralized connectivity management dashboard, allowing users to configure connectivity, security, and observability of an application network. Support for OpenAPI-driven configuration combined with application-level metrics for development teams for management of operating environments
