Other attributes
The American Heraldry Society was founded to study and promote the proper use of heraldry in America. The Society seeks to educate the American public about the art and practices related to personal and organizational heraldry and to promote legal protections against the usurpation of coats of arms in this country.
Governance
The American Heraldry Society is governed by a five-member Board of Governors who are elected by Society members. The President, Treasurer, and Secretary serve one-year terms; two Governors-at-Large are elected to staggered two-year terms. Appointed administrative directors and appointed committees make recommendations, conduct research, and manage some operations of the Society.
