Miles Gilbert Horton, also known as Tim Horton, was born on January 12, 1930, in Cochrane, Ontario. He held Canadian citizenship. Tim Horton was best known for being a professional ice hockey defenceman, playing 24 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Horton was educated at St. Michael's College School and Sudbury Secondary School. Throughout his career, Horton played as a Hockey Player and won the Stanley Cup champion award.
He also founded the popular coffee chain, Tim Hortons. Tim Horton's family includes his sibling Gerry Horton, mother Ethel May, and father Aaron Oakley Horton.
Sadly, Tim Horton passed away in St. Catharines on February 21, 1974.
