Toho

Toho is a Tokyo-based company that operates in the film industry, specifically in film production and distribution, as well as movie theaters. Founded on December 8, 1932, by Ichizō Kobayashi, the company takes the legal form of a Kabushiki gaisha. Toho is a subsidiary of Hankyu Hanshin Holdings and forms part of the Hankyu Hanshin Toho Group.

The company is involved in various areas of the film industry, including film production, distribution, as well as the management of Toho Cinemas, a chain of movie theaters in Japan. Toho has assigned a total of 5 patents during its existence.
