American biologist
Tom Maniatis (born May 8, 1943) is an American biologist. He was born in Denver, Colorado and has made significant contributions to the field of molecular biology. Maniatis was educated at Vanderbilt University and the University of Colorado Boulder. His accomplishments include founding companies such as Kallyope and creating institutions like the University of Florida Cancer and Genetics Research Complex. Frederick Sanger served as his doctoral advisor.
