Tractable is a London based technology company developing computer vision technology to expedite visual analysis tasks. The artificial intelligence platform uses its visual analysis platform to reduce the time taken to assess damage to estimate repair costs.

Tractable’s platform uses proprietary artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to learn and perform visual tasks. As of May 2019, its visual analysis platform is used for two major applications; Car damage appraisal and Disaster recovery.

The platform can audit a massive number of insurance claims which would take hours with manual expert classification. The AI platform is trained on millions of auto damage images and repair decisions from its partner companies to make car damage insurance appraisal faster. It automates the process of detecting parts of a vehicle and assesses the need for replacement parts.

The company works with satellite agencies, drone operators, camera mounted aircraft operators to analyze disaster areas to assess the damage. The data can help governments and disaster relief teams to provide faster response to disasters areas to provide support and start rebuilding.

The company also provides image classification service for industries who are interested in getting insights from their image data-sets.

Adrien Cohen, Alexandre Dalyac, and Razvan Ranca founded the company in 2014 and is headquartered in London, United Kingdom. The company is backed by the Entrepreneur First accelerator program.
