Travelstop was founded in Singapore by Prashant Kirtane, Vijay Aggarwal, and Altaf Dhamani. The founder and CEO, Prashant Kirtane, is a former Yahoo! exec turned entrepreneur who sold his previous travel-tech startup travelmob to Expedia's HomeAway in 2015.
Travelstop raised US$1.2 million seed funding in August 2018 led by Singapore-based venture capital firm SeedPlus.
Travelstop platform offers tools that simplify and automate the entire business travel experience–right from trip planning to expense reimbursements. Travelstop plans to initially focus on small and medium-sized enterprises in Asia where business travel remains largely unmanaged.
The platform is used by employees to book and manage their own business travel, which includes hotel and flight bookings. In addition to travel, employees can also use the platform for expense reporting. The platform uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to personalize the travel and budget recommendations for the company.
