Turbine AI is a Hungarian company creating a drug discovery platform for new cancer therapeutics. It was founded in 2015 by Dániel Veres, Kristóf Zsolt Szalay, and Szabolcs Nagy. Turbine AI has received funding from investors such as Atlantic Labs, Delin Ventures, and O2h Ventures. The company is headquartered in Budapest, Hungary.
Turbine AI's main platform is Simulated Cell. Its function is to develop new compounds that would be most suitable to enter the lead optimization phase. This is done through continuous permutations of several variables with the potential to impact previously identified oncological targets. When new compounds are identified as a result, its efficacy is validated against recent scientific findings and molecular databases. The compounds then enter the preclinical and clinical trial phases, with wet-lab and in silica testing respectively. Several successfully identified novel cancer therapeutics have passed clinical trials, such as those intended to inhibit RTK, PARP, and BTK/BCL2. Turbine AI is partnering with pharmaceutical companies to mass-produce these drugs.
