The tracking device: 1) is contained within the power tool; and, 2) communicates with the appropriate authority by exchanging a plurality of messages. The tracking device: 1) tracks the GPS location of the power tool; and, 2) provides the GPS coordinates of the power tool to the appropriate authority through the plurality of messages.
