The system may be a commerce authorization system comprising a portable computing device, a docking station, and a biometric reader. The method for authorizing a transaction may comprise the steps of: receiving biometric data from a biometric reader; comparing the received biometric data with a biometric template; and, transmitting payment information to the vendor.
