A computer-implemented system and method for an augmented reality system for vision, operable and upgradeable on different portable, wearable and self-contained hardware platforms that is easily adjustable by the user. The system executes instructions to automatically detect the hardware capabilities of the hardware. Loading and installing applications to the user based on the detected hardware. Changing the magnification and contrast to view the selected application, where the contrast adjustment uses filters specifically designed to enhanced the visually impaired experience.
