The display apparatus may include a display configured to operate as at least one of a screen and a mirror, a photographing unit configured to generate a photographed image in which a subject present in a display direction of the display is photographed, and a processor configured to control the display in order for a first area of the display operate as a screen displaying part of the photographed image and a second area other than the first area to operate as a mirror.
