The method includes displaying at least a first portion and second portion of a graphic map layer in the first display region and second display region of a display screen of the terminal device, respectively; identifying a target object in the graphic map layer; determining a target display mode according to a current state of the target object among a plurality of states for the target object; and displaying the target object in the second display region according to the target display mode.
