An method for wireless communication includes identifying a first set of one or more beams for communication with a first cell on a first carrier. The method includes identifying a second set of one or more beams for communication with a second cell on a second carrier. The method further includes transmitting an indication of a group of beams to the first cell or the second cell. The indication of the group of beams indicates allowed or disallowed combinations of beams for concurrent transmission or reception at the UE on the first and second carriers.
