The electrolyte solution contains a fluorinated diether and a metal salt having a specific structure. The fluorinated diether is represented by CFR11R12—O—CH2CH2—O—R13, wherein R11 and R12 are each individually H, CH3, F, CH2F, CHF2, or CF3; and R13 is a C1 or C2 non-fluorinated alkyl group or a C1 or C2 fluorinated alkyl group.
