A controller determines a driving path based on information, determines the electric energy required for driving on the driving path based on the road type and the electric vehicle fuel economy value for each road type, determines whether the vehicle is capable of driving on the driving path based on a battery SOC and the determined required electric energy, and determines a final path based on the presence of a ramp with a slope greater than a preset slope.
