The various embodiments further include, determining whether the selected media content includes content-type metadata that identifies the selected media content as a predetermined type of content, and initiating operation of network application logic configured to control a network-connected electronic device in response to determining the selected media content includes the content-type metadata that identifies the selected media content as the predetermined type of content.
