The method includes: acquiring the characteristic parameter of the atomizer of the electronic cigarette; determining the first output power corresponding to the characteristic parameter of the atomizer; and outputting electric energy to the atomizer with the first output power when a smoking signal is detected. The electronic cigarette can output electric energy of different powers to atomizers with different specifications, so that the battery device of the electronic cigarette can be adapted to atomizers with different specifications, thereby increasing the adaptation range of the electronic cigarette.
