US Patent 11871973 Bone anchor, kit and method of use

An autograft forming bone anchor is provided including an elongated anchor core having a tip at a distal end and coupled to a head at a proximal end, and a segmented helical thread defining one or more gaps therein, each gap defining at least a trailing wall, the trailing wall having a cutting surface including at least one cutting edge. A plane of the cutting surface that extends through a point of contact of the cutting surface with the anchor core and the cutting edge, is angled at an angle (α) with respect to a radius (r) of the bone anchor, and the bone cutting surface and the cutting edge are configured to cut bone and guide bone fragments radially inwards.
