Systems involve implementations such as a first case assembly including a base including an interior surface and an exterior surface, first, second, and third side walls and an interior surface at least partially bounding an interior area to receive at least a portion of a portable electronic device, and a coupler assembly including a portion of the exterior surface of the base; and an accessory assembly configured to provide at least one electric communication or power function for the portable electronic device, wherein the accessory assembly being sized and shaped to couple with the coupler assembly of the case assembly.
