Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may monitor for two or more messages from a base station. The UE may transmit, to the base station, at least one bit (e.g., in first stage uplink control information (UCI)) that is based at least in part on combined acknowledgement feedback associated with the two or more messages and that indicates a subset of possible decoding events associated with the two or more messages. In some aspects, the UE may further transmit at least one additional bit (e.g., in second stage UCI) that is based at least in part on the combined acknowledgement feedback and that indicates a different subset of possible decoding events associated with the two or more messages.
