A safety chock (16) for large wheeled vehicles. A torque arm component (26, 24, 20, 21) maintains and positions an underside face (37) of a shoe (30) in proper position relative to the travelling surface (14), when moving the chock (16) from a cruise position to a chocking position. A tierod assembly (24, 28, 27, 23, 21) positions a receiving face (31) of the shoe (30) to engage the wheel (13). The two components rotate in concert to accurately place the shoe (30) to engage the wheel (13) in an optimal chocking position as the shoe receiving face (31) is engaging the periphery of the wheel (13) simultaneously with the shoe underside face (37) contacting the traveling surface (14). This safety chock (16) operates independent of the ride or loaded height of the vehicle as it is attached to the axle (12), or the suspension components of the vehicle.
