This invention is an adjustable weight exercise device such as a bar bell or a dumbbell in which a handle is provided with fixed weights permanently coupled to each end of the handle and a collar is provided having a first portion for detachable threading engagement with the fixed weights and the collar has a second portion with external threads for detachable threading engagement with a threaded aperture in add on weights.
