A printer includes a chassis. A print media carriage is arranged on the chassis and is displaceable with respect to the chassis. A drive mechanism is mounted on the chassis and is engaged with the print media carriage to displace the print media carriage with respect to the chassis. A controller controls the drive mechanism and includes a user interface to allow a user to actuate the drive mechanism.
