A universal fixture is provided for securing a portable power tool, such as a belt sander. The fixture has a housing with a plurality of sidewalls, and a plurality of retainers extending from the sidewalls for securing the power tool, wherein the sidewalls and retainers are adjustable to accommodate power tools of differing shapes and sizes. Further, the universal fixture is adjustable to mount the power tool in differing positions for optimal use.
