A vehicle seating system in which a seat belt restraint assembly may be secured directly to the seat. The vehicle seating system includes generally a seat and a base assembly that supports the seat. The base assembly may be a suspension base assembly or a pedestal base assembly. The construction of the base assembly provides the vehicle seating system with sufficient strength so that the system satisfies load testing requirements and provides comfort to the occupant.
