A web conveying apparatus is provided with a plurality of web guiding rollers. The web guiding rollers convey a web on which a functional material has just been coated in a coating section. Concave portions and convex portions that have a substantially semicircular cross section are alternately formed on a peripheral surface along a circumferential direction of each roller. A pitch Pv of the concave portions and a pitch Pm of the convex portions are in the range of 0.01 mm or more and 2 mm or less. A height Hv-m from a lowest point of the concave portion to a highest point of the convex portion is in the range of 0.01 mm or more and 1 mm or less. A curvature radius Rv of the concave portion and a curvature radius Rm of the convex portion are in the range of 0.1 mm or more and 0.5 mm or less.
