A point-of-sale terminal is provided that includes a financial information reader. The financial information reader is configured to read and receive financial information from a card, such as a debit or credit card, which is associated with at least one account. The point-of-sale terminal further includes an input device, which is configured to receive a request for a select cash amount in excess of an amount of the purchase transaction. The point-of-sale terminal next includes a control system, which is configured to request authorization for payment of the amount of the purchase transaction and the select cash amount on the account. The financial information reader is configured to read and receive the financial information form the card in connection with the request for authorization.
