US Patent 9557495 Fibre optic connector device

A connector device for a fiber optic cable. The connector device includes a housing assembly (5, 25, 31) arranged to house a section of a fiber optic cable (9); a first fiber optic connector (47) including a body (48) that is arranged to receive a first optical fiber; a second fiber optic connector (49) including a body (50) that is arranged to receive a second optical fiber; and attachment mechanism (41, 65) for releasably attaching each of the first and second fiber optic connectors (47, 49) to the housing assembly (5, 25, 31). A fiber optic connector assembly (1) and a method for changing the polarity of first and second optical fibers in a fiber optic cable assembly (1) are also disclosed.
