Born in 1964 in Brunnen, Switzerland, Ugo Rondinone is a New York-based artist. Rondinone rose to international acclaim in the early 1990s with varied pieces—a result of noncommitment to any particular style. He produces paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, video, and sound and installation art. He is also a poet, collector, and curator.
His work is in the collections of MoMA, New York, the ICA, Boston, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, and the Dallas Museum of Art, among others.
