Ulysses S. Grant was born on April 27, 1822, in Point Pleasant, Ohio. Born Hiram Ulysses Grant, he was an American writer, politician, statesman, and officer in the armed forces. Grant was a citizen of the United States. He was educated at the United States Military Academy.
Grant's father was Jesse Root Grant, and he had several children, including Jesse Root Grant, Frederick Dent Grant, Ulysses S. Grant Jr., and Nellie Grant. He was also the father of Ulysses S. Grant Jr.. Ulysses S. Grant earned the nickname "Unconditional Surrender" Grant.
Grant passed away on July 23, 1885, in Wilton, New York. He was the owner of the company Cincinnati.
