Union.ai

Union.ai is a company that produces workflow platforms. It was founded in 2021 by Ketan Umare, George Snelling, Haytham Abuelfutuh, Katrina Rogan, and Yee Hing Tong. Union.ai operated in stealth mode from its founding date until April 2022, when it announced it had raised $10 million in funding. The funding will be used for improving the performance and accessibility of its workflow platform Flyte.

Flyte was created by Union.ai's founders when they worked at the company Lyft. It was originally designed as a system to calculate a Lyft driver's estimated time of arrival (ETA) to a ride request. Flyte was launched at Lyft in late 2016, and Lyft made the platform open source in 2020. Under Union.ai, Flyte is a platform for programming and processing artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics workflows.

Union Cloud is a managed version of Flyte that enables small teams and organizations to use the same features of Flyte without requiring an infrastructure team. The goal of Union Cloud is to reduce the amount of messy infrastructure problems that can come up while working on data science projects, which helps prevent the possibility of the infrastructure needing to be rebuilt.
