The United States Department of State is an organization under the Federal government of the United States, with its headquarters located in the Harry S Truman Building in Washington, D.C. It was founded on July 27, 1789. The department is led by the current CEO, Tony Blinken.
Some of the department's subsidiaries include the Foreign Service Institute, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, and the United States Agency for International Development. The department operates various embassies worldwide, such as Embassy of the United States, Berlin, Embassy of the United States in Beijing, China and Embassy of the United States, London, United Kingdom, amongst many others.
