The United States Military Academy (USMA), also known as West Point, is a public educational institution founded by Thomas Jefferson on March 16, 1802. Located in West Point, New York, it is an organization that operates as a military academy, university, and higher education institute in the United States. The headquarters of the academy is in Highlands, New York.
The USMA falls under the parent organization of the United States Army, and its subsidiaries include the Army Cyber Institute, United States Military Academy Preparatory School, United States Military Academy at West Point, United States Military Academy class ring, and United States Military Academy grounds and facilities. It adheres to the motto of "Duty, Honor, Country".
